Galgorm Resort Engagement Shoot
Emma and Natalie met me at the beautiful Galgorm Resort in Ballymena for their engagement shoot. We began indoors as it was raining. Come on! This is Northern Ireland and rain is good luck! It was great to begin indoors, as it gave us all a few minutes to get composed. I often say most couples need a little time before to get photo ready and get comfortable. Not these two! Emma & Natalie were amazing from the first click.
When we did get outdoors, from the moment we started walking the grounds I was looking ahead and I knew I could not wait for their wedding day. It’s going to be such a brilliant day.

Engagement shoots are one of my favourite parts of the whole wedding experience. They’re the perfect ice breaker. The couple gets to see how I work, I get to see how they interact with each other, and by the end of the session we’re no longer strangers turning up on the wedding morning.
We’re a team. And that’s exactly what this shoot felt like.
The grounds at Galgorm are perfect for an engagement session. From the peaceful riverside walks to the beautiful gardens, every corner offers something different. We wandered, laughed, stopped for photos when the light looked great, and generally just enjoyed the afternoon together.
Nothing I do is one-size-fits-all. Every couple is different and every shoot has its own mood and vibe.
My job is to read the room and photograph the couple in a way that feels natural to them.

Some couples want romantic and relaxed. Some want fun and playful. Emma and Natalie were definitely bringing the fun with lots of romanticism.
The laughs kept coming and we finished the shoot with some beautiful photos that really capture their personalities.
NI Engagement Shoot Ideas
The big day itself is coming up very soon as they’ll be tying the knot at the gorgeous Redcastle in Donegal later this month. After a shoot like this I already know their wedding day is going to be full of energy, laughter, and plenty of great moments to capture.
