Lough Erne Winter Wedding Enniskillen

Orlágh & Jordan’s Amazing Wedding At Lough Erne Resort Enniskillen.

Orlágh and her mum first found me at a wedding show a couple of years ago. It was a quiet one - my stand was beside a closed bar - so I may have snuck over back and forward to watch the United match (just to get my steps in). I spotted Orlágh and her mum from the bar, dashed over to say hello, and that evening an email landed to meet her groom-to-be, Jordan. A great result all round… and United won too which felt like a good omen.

After meeting Orlágh & Jordan and after booking me, fast forward a year and we had a great engagement shoot at the Ulster American Folk Park which you can see here.

Fast forward again to their gorgeous winter wedding in Enniskillen. I started my day with Orlágh in Cookstown while Jordan who was getting ready in Portadown got photographed by my staff photographer, Declan. For the majority of my weddings, I photograph each of the couple myself but because Jordan was so far away, it didn’t make sense for me to do both so I got to focus on Orlágh.

Orlágh, her bridesmaids and family had the best morning. It seemed to go in very quickly and after some fun prep shots it was time to head to St. Mary’s, Dunamore in Cookstown for the ceremony.

After the ceremony and handshakes, we moved inside the cozy St. Mary’s church for family photos. It was dry but really cold. This time of year, comfort comes first - I’m not about to freeze the wedding party! I basically turned St. Mary’s into a studio to get the best shots. Family photos need to be brilliant since they usually end up on walls for years. I’ve been to enough family homes to spot plenty of bad family wedding photos - and once, a bride even pointed to a terrible one of their church! Yikes. I hoped the one I would be supplying would be hung somewhere else as it would make the older one look worse by comparison. Anyway, I always put in the time to make these family shots truly shine. They also make great gifts from the couple to the families as I do so many different combinations.

Winter weddings always mean racing against the clock as the light fades early. I zipped through the church photos to get Orlágh and Jordan into the limo and on their way to Lough Erne Resort - no time to waste! Despite a few minutes’ delay packing up and what felt like the longest, anxiety filled, traffic-mad drive ever, I’d have been really upset if they had of been left waiting on me, thankfully I arrived just a minute after them.

We photographed the bridal party shots in the cozy Library at Lough Erne, then grabbed some stunning outdoor portraits with those incredible views. Big credit to Orlágh and Jordan for braving the cold - I kept things quick so we could get them back inside to warmth of their wedding reception.

It’s been a minute since I’d been to Lough Erne Resort, and they’ve definitely left their mark all around the reception space. The staff were top class, and the wedding coordinator was fantastic - looking after Orlágh & Jordan and jumping right into the fun.

My coverage wrapped just after the dancing, but not before everyone got involved in some fun sparkler photos. Such great craic and a perfect way to light up the night!

Orlágh & Jordan, thanks again for choosing me as your wedding photographer. I loved every minute, from meeting you both to capturing your big day. Next up: your album which is going to be stunning.

Orlágh’s fab review that she left for me on my Google business page.
