Redcastle Hotel Wedding Photography - Rikita & Jordan

We’re back at the fab Redcastle Hotel (one of my all-time favourite venues) for today’s real wedding story — Rikita & Jordan’s gorgeous Limavady wedding.

After a brilliant engagement shoot with these two, I was seriously looking forward to their big day, and it did not disappoint.

My day kicked off with Jordan at his home outside Coleraine. We started out in the yard with a mix of machinery and cars, capturing Jordan and the lads in their everyday clothes — a bit of bonus coverage before the usual groom prep. Jordan was an absolute star from start to finish. When the groom is fully up for it, my job becomes very easy.

Inside the house, I spotted a gorgeous mirror that I simply had to use. As I lined up a few reflection shots of Jordan, along came pageboy Caiden, who completely stole the show by casually photobombing his dad and looking up at him. Unreal. Proof once again that the best moments are always the unplanned ones.

Next stop was Limavady for Rikita’s prep. As you can imagine, the bride’s home was buzzing — busy but wonderfully calm. Rikita was kept in great spirits by her fab bridal party and extended family, making for a lovely, relaxed morning.

A short journey later, we arrived at St. Mary’s Church in Limavady for the ceremony. After some beautiful moments inside the church, it was time to head off to the Redcastle.

And what an entrance — Rikita & Jordan arrived by helicopter. Yes, really. The Redcastle has its own helicopter pad, so if you’re planning a wedding there, this is a pretty epic way to arrive.

Following the champagne red-carpet welcome and a bit of mingling, we headed out to those famous Redcastle views for photos with the bridal party. The craic was mighty. I do sometimes feel sorry for bridal parties having to listen to me waffle non-stop… Lucky for them, it’s over quickly.

Once the formal photos were wrapped up, it was time for Rikita & Jordan to relax and enjoy their guests while I blended into the background capturing candid moments — as discreetly as possible.

The speeches were full of laughs, followed by a well-earned break for dinner.

Afterwards, the entertainment kicked off courtesy of Steven from DJ Greener, and honestly, this was up there with some of the best wedding entertainment I’ve seen. Absolute mayhem in the best way. If that wasn’t energetic enough, it was time for the table dash — a full-on workout for everyone involved. I don’t remember getting a warning it was happening, but thankfully my camera batteries were fully charged as I sprinted around the Redcastle ballroom chasing Rikita & Jordan.

After a short breather, the dancing began. More candids, more laughs, and from what I hear, the craic didn’t stop all night long.

Rikita & Jordan, thanks again for having me as your wedding photographer.
