Wedding At Redcastle Hotel Donegal

Welcome to the romantic Spring wedding of Natalie & Emma at the fabulous Redcastle Hotel in Donegal.

You might remember this fab couple from earlier in the year at their Galgorm engagement shoot which you can see here.

Natalie & Emma’s wedding was in late April and we were blessed with some super weather - what better place to enjoy the sunny weather than by the sea at the Redcastle in Donegal.

Romantic Same-Sex Wedding in Donegal

Natalie & Emma began their preparations at the Redcastle in the fab bedrooms of the Redcastle Hotel.

With a ceremony later in the day in house at the Redcastle, this made the logistics of the day so much easier.

Natalie & Emma got dressed in separate rooms which meant I got to get my steps (which there were many!) as I went from Natalie’s room to Emma and back and forward a hundred times. Haha.

The morning was so much fun for the brides and the craic was flowing. Close friends and family really help make the morning and Natalie & Emma are so blessed to have families and friends who are so much fun.

For the guests arriving, the vibes were very different to say a church wedding. Everyone was thirsting for such a fun day. The guests were treated to a live saxophonist performance at arrival and everyone was enjoying the Spring sun. The brides and their families were definitely feeling the great vibes coming from their guests in the lead up to the ceremony as the great sax music swept around the venue.

On to the ceremony which was officiated by the lovely Catriona Doherty. Always nice to see Catriona at my weddings. The ceremony room at the Redcastle was bathed in amazing light. Such a brilliant venue for your ceremony.

Beautiful Same-Sex Wedding Ceremony at Redcastle Hotel

The ceremony was so nice. Really amazing to be a fly on the wall documenting moments like this for such a nice couple.

After the ceremony, it was straight into the photo shoot. With these two brides, I’d love to have stole them away for longer but as always, I think it’s a fine line between getting enough images and totally torturing the couple. (I don’t want to be that photographer.) Think Natalie and Emma would have pushed me into the sea if I tried to make the photo shoot any longer. Haha.

After some nice candids with the guests and some beautiful family portraits, it was time for the speeches. I love photographing speeches. I’m biased, but I think it’s nicer looking back on photos. There are some great reactions, smiles and looks in the speeches photos below.

After dinner, it was time for Mickey Doherty to take centre stage. Mickey is an entertainer and a man of many talents. He put on an amazing show for Natalie & Emma and their guests. A fantastic addition to Natalie & Emma’s wedding day.

Soon after, it was time for the official first dance with Natalie & Emma who had both changed their outfits. I love it when my couples do this. Both Natalie & Emma looked amazing in each of their outfits and after some dancing it was outside to see some fireworks.
